It's a BOY!

Yesterday was a super looong day...didn't have the time to log on the net and post an entry at night...was dead beat! 8am to 6pm..no joke!

Aniwae, my sis sms me yesterday after her appointment with the gynae which was right before i went for OB lecture, and informed me that everything is normal and......that it is a BOY!!! Hahaha...i burst out laughing for joy! I'm gonna have a nephew!

Yay!!!

Haha...actually, all the while, i had wished to have a niece. I think..like most ppl...i had dreams of dolling her up..tie ribbons in her hair, dress her in a pretty, cute dress..and later as she grow up, i want to be the aunt whom she goes to when she has boy problems and stuff (not that i noe a whole load of stuff but enuff i guess..haha)...i want to be the aunt whom she can look up to, a friend who's always gonna be there for her...

But when my sister announced that it is going to be a boy..surprisingly, i didn't feel all that disappointed..i kinda like the idea actually..though after a few minutes, (when the information finally seep into my brain cells) that i started to feel a little anxious...i dunno anything (not much anyway) abt boys..i mean, what they go thru..feelings and stuff in the teenage years, i dunno..as in i definitely never experience it first hand. At least, if i had a niece and she tells me stuff from girlhood to ladyhood to womanhood, (hehz) i would noe.

And when the boy gets older later in the years, he might think that it's not cool to be clingy or close to an adult or sth like dat, then how?
I'll be heartbroken...my very first nephew thinking like that..

And i'm kinda afraid my nephew do not have any (well..it's definitely not many) positive male role models in his immediate environment (if u noe what i mean) that he can relate to, that is a good example for him...*sigh* But i guess, whatever it is, i am always, ALwaYs going to be there for my dearest nephew...I will love him with all my heart.

Anyway, the moment i reached home, my sis showed me the baby scans and everything..it's a very detailed scan..very interesting to see..then we started discussing abt baby names...i gave her a few suggestions, bearing in mind TWO conditions:
  • my sister wants her son's name to have only two syllables (cuz she ADAMANTLY dun want ppl to give my nephew nicknames due to a long name, like Suriyani become Suri)
  • the name must have a meaning that's got to do with clever, intelligent, achiever etc. (typical Singaporean parent dun u think? *rolls eyes*)

So I looked and looked for the names in the books that i made her buy months ago (in fact i look at the name book whenever i'm free..hehz..exciting la) and i came up with several..here they are:

  • Azfar = Achiever
  • Hadi = Leader
  • Wafi = Loyal (I feel that a name shld reflect e kind of character one wants for a child, but my sister dun share my sentiments, unfortunately *pouts*)
  • Yadi = clever

I also like the names Zaki, Ilyas (english name for that is Elias), Ridhuan and Hidayat...but i noe a person named Zaki and i dun wan my nephew to be like him. Ilyas is the name of Sharifa's bro. Ridhuan is my cousin's name and Hidayat always reminds me of the guy who acted as a rebellious boy in one of the TV shows..LOL...and furthermore, the name is toooo malay..so these names are out.

My sis like the name Yadi..even Lewis like it..YAY!!!

NOW, i'm persuading my sis (hehe) to put one more name in front of the name Yadi. So it would be...

Muhammad Yadi Lim blah blah (chinese name - that one Lewis's mom can help suggest)

OR should it be,

Mohamad, Mohammad, Muhd, Muhamad...hmmmm...

*thinks really hard* Maybe adding the 'Muhammad' is not a nice idea..practically all malay boys have it...

but then..there's lack of boys in my family tree and we never have a boy in our family named the typical name. As it is, Yadi is not a very typical name..right? It's quite rare....

And with the chinese name along with the surname, and if there's no 'Muhammad' in front of 'Yadi'...then it would be,

Yadi Lim blah blah

Quite short..

*still thinking*

shit. how ah?
